Cecilia O'Connell graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. In 2011, she graduated from St. John's University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree, where she served as a member of the New York International Law Review.
Cecilia O'Connell is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey Courts, and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association and St. John's University School of Law Alumni Association.
The Honorable Geoffrey J. O’Connell is a retired Justice of the New York State Supreme Court. A graduate of Regis High School, Fordham College and New York University School of Law, he worked as a law clerk to a Nassau County Court Judge and to a New York State Supreme Court Justice, Civil Division. Judge O’Connell served eight years as a Nassau County District Court Judge prior to his election to the New York State Supreme Court. He was Chair of the Judicial Section of the New York State Bar Association. After retiring, he was a Judicial Hearing Officer in the Matrimonial Division of the Supreme Court, Nassau County.
